I will give thanks to you, O Lord, among the peoples, I will sing praises to you among the nations.  For your steadfast love is great above the heavens, your faithfulness reaches to the clouds.

Prayer & Praise

Welcome to this special worship service of remembrance and celebration.   We want to commemorate the end of current cancer treatments for Tenley Falk and Nettie Ginter.  We are grateful for the faithfulness of Gods ongoing presence with us.  We are thankful to God for allowing these families to reach the end of what has been a life changing journey.  It is important to give thanks to God.  After the service we invite the congregation to celebrate around the tables, sharing a noon meal which will include elements of Tenley’s favorite foods.  All are welcome.

Reminders of prayer items for this week:

Tim Wiebe who continues to deal with cancer related health issues.

Harv Thiessen continues his   physiotherapy program at the Riverview Health Centre in Winnipeg.  Your prayers are appreciated.

Austin Penner at Agassiz Youth Center in Portage la Prairie also values our prayer support.

~ Those in various care homes that we remember in our prayers include: Trudy Harms, Helen Janzen, Jake Rempel, Mary Klassen, and Peter E. Hildebrandt

~ Inviting women of all ages to the Women’s Sunday school class new video series “Kingdom Woman” starting Sunday April 15!

This 6 week series (of course we’ve been known to go longer!) is described as follows:

A kingdom woman gives the devil as much reason to fear as a kingdom man. She lives confidently in the knowledge that Christ died and rose for her so that she can experience the significance of the destiny to which she has been called. In Kingdom Woman, Tony Evans and his daughter, Chrystal Evans Hurst, remind women of their calling from God to be free, delivered, healed, and hopeful.

We’re looking forward to the opportunity to again discover more of God together.

The Gretna Bergthaler Church invites all who are interested to attend a workshop at:  the church in Gretna, on Saturday, April 21, 2018 from 10 am – 3 pm.  Led by Elsie Rempel, the workshop will center on faith formation in children and youth with topics such as: Ways we recognize and respond to God as we grow toward adulthood; Salvation and children: Inviting Jesus into our hearts and minds; Integrating children and youth into the churches worship and mission; The roles of curriculum and the church calendar in inter-generational church life.  There is no cost to attend.  Bring a bag lunch.  Check the bulletin board for more details.

~ In an effort to be good stewards, we re-use Sunday school teaching materials whenever possible.  However, over the years, we have accumulated extra supplies, especially in regard to DVBS materials, which we would love to share with any children’s ministry that could put it to use.  If you know of any ministry that would benefit from lesson plans, activity papers, music, etc., please contact Ingrid or Marilyn.
