Verse of the Week:

Make me to know your ways, O Lord; teach me your paths.  Lead me in your truth and teach me, for you alone are the God of my salvation; for you I wait all the day long.

Prayer & Praise

~ Following our worship service we are invited to a youth lunch noon meal.  The funds raised will be used to support SOAR Heartland and other youth projects.  All are welcome to stay for lunch.

~ We trust that the Mission Exposure experience for Morgan Fehr and her team was a growing and learning encounter.  As they reflect on what was planned and done we pray that significant learnings about themselves and God will be life giving.

~ Let us continue to remember in prayer those whom we mention weekly:

– Let us keep Alfred (Fred) Ens and his family in our prayers. He has been diagnosed with prostate cancer and has been undergoing many tests and appointments. He recently has had some liver issues as well. Pray that God would bring clarity and comfort to their family’s journey and healing to his body.

– Nettie Ginter as she continues her radiation treatments.

Tenley Falk as she undergoes her maintenance schedule of appointments and treatments

Tim Wiebe as he continues to monitor the results of his treatments

Austin Penner who continues his stay at the Agassiz Youth Center in Portage la Prairie.

~ Those in various care homes that we remember in our prayers include: Trudy Harms, Helen Janzen, Jake Rempel, Mary Klassen, and Peter E. Hildebrandt

~We continue to offer our prayer support for Laure and her family, as well as for the Paroisse Missionaire Congregation in Kinshasa, DR Congo; Ryan Thiessen in San Carlos, Mexico, Murray and Carol Honsberger in Papua New Guinea, Eagles Wings Children’s Village in Uganda, Jon & Natalie Neudorf in Chiang Mai, Thailand working with YWAM, and Tyler Loewen in Cambodia with MCC.

Prayer for the Week:

In this Lenten season, O God, we come before you, asking for courage to open our eyes.  We want to see ourselves as you see us – the empty and barren places, the half-hearted struggles, the faint stirrings of new life.  We come, trusting your grace, waiting for your illuminating word, longing for your healing light.  Do not let us be blind to your presence.  Shine upon us, O God, and make our paths clear, for we pray in the name of Jesus.      Amen.

Lenten Memory Passage – John 20: 1 – 8

1 Early on the first day of the week, while it was still dark, Mary Magdalene went to the tomb and saw that the stone had been removed from the entrance. So she came running to Simon Peter and the other disciple, the one Jesus loved, and said, “They have taken the Lord out of the tomb, and we don’t know where they have put him!”

So Peter and the other disciple started for the tomb. Both were running, but the other disciple outran Peter and reached the tomb first. He bent over and looked in at the strips of linen lying there but did not go in. Then Simon Peter came along behind him and went straight into the tomb. He saw the strips of linen laying there, as well as the cloth that had been wrapped around Jesus’ head. The cloth was still lying in its place, separate from the linen. Finally the other disciple, who had reached the tomb first, also went inside. He saw and believed.
