Everyone who heard this wondered about it, asking,

“What then is this child going to be?”  For the Lord’s hand was with him.

Prayer & Praise

~ Welcome to our Sunday school Celebration Sunday.  We are grateful for teachers, students, superintendents, music and worship leaders who have committed themselves to the discipline of studying, teaching and learning.  Above all, we are grateful that we have a most amazing story to share about God’s love for each and every one.

~ Tim Wiebe has completed his third week of chemo and radiation treatments.  Nettie Ginter will begin her treatments at the end of September.  We pray for patience and peace of mind as these people make their journey and we pray for much courage for their families as well.

~ We trust that this first week of back to school has been a positive experience for all students and teachers.  We trust that this would be true for Tenley Falk as well.  May the routine of school not be  overwhelming, but a safe and nurturing environment.  Updates can be found at: htttp://www.tenleysjourney.wordpress.com

~ We Continue to remember our brothers and sisters in the Democratic Republic of the Congo as they experience great upheaval, loss of life and forced displacement.  We remember also the many lives affected by the devastating consequences of recent hurricanes in the Caribbean and the United States.  Many have lost their homes and even the lives of loved ones.

~ Those in various care homes that we remember in our prayers include: Trudy Harms, Helen Janzen, and Jake Rempel.

~We continue to offer our prayer support for Laure and her family, as well as for the Paroisse Missionaire Congregation in Kinshasa, DR Congo; Ryan Thiessen in San Carlos, Mexico; Murray and Carol Honsberger in Papua New Guinea, Eagles Wings Children’s Village in Uganda, Jon & Natalie Neudorf in Chiang Mai, Thailand working with YWAM,  and Andrea Fehr with YWAM in Hawai’i

Prayer for the Week:

Grant Lord, to all who study and those who teach them, the grace to love that which is worth loving, to know that which is worth knowing, to value what is most precious to You, and to reject what is not in keeping with Your will and purpose.  Give them a true sense of judgment, and the wisdom to see beneath the surface of things.  Above all, may they search out and do what is pleasing to You, through Jesus the Christ, our Lord.  Amen.
