Verse of the Week:

“Beloved do not be surprised at the fiery ordeal which comes upon you to prove you, as though something strange were happening to you.  But rejoice in so far as you share Christ’s sufferings, that you may also rejoice and be glad when His glory is revealed.  If you are reproached for the name of Christ, you blessed, because the Spirit of glory and God rests on you.”  1 Peter 4:12 – 14

Prayer for the Week:

(This was written by St Cyprian of Carthage in the year of his martyrdom, to encourage fellow Christians under persecution)

Good God, may we confess Your name to the end.  May we emerge unsullied and glorious from the traps and dark powers of this world. As You have bound us together in love and peace, and as, together we have persevered through times of hardship, may we also rejoice together in Your heavenly kingdom.  Amen
