Prayer & Praise

~ Congratulations to Gerry & Cassie Giesbrecht on the birth of a baby boy, Graham Carter, on Thursday, April 26, 2018.  He is a brother for Judah & Taryn.  He is another grandson for Joe & Janet Giesbrecht.  May you experience God’s continued guidance as you parent the children God has entrusted to your care.

~ We are planning to have our service of baptism and communion on Sunday, May 20, 2018.  We invite your prayer support for those who are planning to make a public confession of their faith in Jesus as Savior and Lord.  This will be followed be a service of Baptism and communion. Those requesting baptism incude: Nick Driedger, Tyson Fehr, Josh Dyck, Heidi Miller, Mark Falk, Lauren Fehr, and Jesse Miller.

~ Thank you so much for your love and care, and your prayers for our mother Mary Klassen while she was here with us. She loved her church family.   Thank you now for caring for us, her family, by your prayers and your many thoughtful acts – meals, cards, flowers, hugs, sharing memories and other show of support. To those who set up for and served the meal, those who ushered, who provided sound and pictures – many thanks for your gifts of time and kindness.

Reminders of prayer items for this week:

Tim Wiebe as he continues with monitoring the after effects of chemo.

Harv Thiessen as he continues his physiotherapy program at the Riverview Health Centre in Winnipeg.  Your prayers are appreciated.

Austin Penner at Agassiz Youth Center in Portage la Prairie also values our prayer support.

~ Those in various care homes that we remember in our prayers include: Trudy Harms, Helen Janzen, Jake Rempel and Peter E. Hildebrandt

~We continue to offer our prayer support for Laure and her family, as well as for the Paroisse Missionaire Congregation in Kinshasa, DR Congo; Ryan Thiessen in San Carlos, Mexico, Murray and Carol Honsberger in Papua New Guinea, Eagles Wings Children’s Village in Uganda, Jon & Natalie Neudorf in Chiang Mai, Thailand working with YWAM, Andrea Fehr who is home working on VISA requirements before she can head back to Hawai’i, and Tyler Loewen in Cambodia with MCC.

Prayer for the Week:

Father in heaven, form in us the likeness of your son and deepen his life within us.  Send us as witnesses of gospel joy into a world of fragile peace and broken promises; and touch the hearts of all with your love that they in turn may love one another.  Amen.
