Prayer & Praise

~ We are blessed to have a dedicated group of Sunday school teachers who faithfully commit themselves to the study of God’s word, to prayer and to their teaching.  Thank you for your servant heart, your love for the students and willingness to share God’s great story with others.  If you meet a Sunday school teacher today, thank them for who they are and for what they do.

~ Tim Wiebe met with the doctors this past Friday to discuss the results of his latest MRI test.  So far we have not heard what the test showed.  We continue to uphold Tim and his family as well as Nettie Ginter, and Tenley Falk and their families in our prayers.  We remember Austin Penner currently at the Agassiz Youth Centre in Portage la Prairie. Let us not forget to uphold one another before the throne of grace and thus intercede for each other before our Lord and Saviour.   Updates for Tenley can be found at: www.tenleysjourney.wordpress.com

~ We want to share in the anticipation of Jonathan Fehr and Joelle Warkentin as they finalize plans for their wedding which is scheduled for Saturday, November 11, 2017.  May you experience God’s many blessings as you pledge your lives to one another under the Lordship of Jesus the Christ.

~ Those in various care homes that we remember in our prayers include: Trudy Harms, Helen Janzen, and Jake Rempel, Mary Klassen in the Rock Lake Personal Care Home in Pilot Mound, and Peter E Hildebrandt , in Altona Hospital,  who are dealing with health issues.

~ We continue to offer our prayer support for Laure and her family as well as for the Paroisse Missionaire Congregation in Kinshasa, DR Congo; Ryan Thiessen in San Carlos, Mexico; Murray and Carol Honsberger in Papua New Guinea, Eagles Wings Children’s Village in Uganda, Jon & Natalie Neudorf in Chiang Mai, Thailand working with YWAM, and Andrea Fehr, working with YWAM in Hawai’I, (home now for a wedding).

Deacon Ministry

We as a congregation have been blessed by the ministry of dedicated and caring deacons.  It continues to be an important ministry in the life of our congregation, even though much of the work is done behind the scenes.  We seek to uphold one another in prayer, encourage each other, comfort and challenge each other so that the body of Christ may be built up.

  1. We are asking that deacons assist the ministerial with the spiritual care of the congregation.
  2. This would include visitation of the elderly and the visitation of those struggling with health issues, either at home, the hospital or personal care home.
  3. Deacons would meet with the Pastor to support and encourage each other, pray, and make suggestions regarding special needs: i.e. financial, spiritual, personal, etc. which members may be experiencing.
  4. Deacons would participate in meetings with the Ministerial Council as needed.
  5. Deacons would assist with Communion services as requested.

~ Those currently serving as Deacons are: Garry & Karla Fehr, Ray & Charlotte Klassen, Henry & Sara Froese, Abe & Viola Fehr

~ Both Henry & Sara Froese and Ray & Charlotte Klassen have served one three year term and are eligible for re-election.

~ We would like to regain a full complement of deacons which would include five positions.  Thus for this year, we are looking to fill three positions.

~ All members currently attending are eligible to nominate and all members currently attending are eligible to be nominated.

~ We ask that you prayerfully consider this matter as we proceed with nominations in one week, on Sunday, November 12, 2017

Prayer & Praise

~ We are grateful for a dedicated group of ushers in our church community.  They do a great job of welcoming people into our midst.  Their dedicated service often goes unnoticed.  Let’s greet an usher today and thank them for who they are and for what they do.

~ We continue to list those for whom we offer our prayer support and encouragement.  Tim Wiebe, Nettie Ginter, and Tenley Falk are dealing with ongoing health issues while Austin Penner continues his stay at the Agassiz Youth Centre in Portage la Prairie.  Updates for Tenley can be found at: www.tenleysjourney.wordpress.com

~ Those in various care homes that we remember in our prayers include: Trudy Harms, Helen Janzen, and Jake Rempel, Mary Klassen in the Rock Lake Personal Care Home in Pilot Mound, and Peter E Hildebrandt (at home) who are dealing with health issues.

~ Take note of the latest update sent from Murray & Carol Honsberger about their work in Papua New Guinea.  A copy is up on the bulletin board.  They recently completed an Oral Bible Storytelling Workshop to provide training for lay pastors.  Participants often feel inadequate in their role of providing leadership.  They value our prayer support.

Prayer for the week: (from Charles de Foucauld – 1858-1916)

My Father, I abandon myself into Your hands. Do with me as you will. Whatever You may do with me, I thank You.  I am prepared for anything, I accept everything, provided Your will is fulfilled in me and in all creatures.  I ask for nothing more, my God.  I place my soul in Your hands, I give it to You my God, with all the love of my heart, because I love You.  And for me it is a necessity of love, this gift of myself this placing of myself in Your hands, in boundless confidence, because You are my Father.  Amen.

Service of Praise

Prayer & Praise

~ Thank you to the Music Committee for planning this morning’s worship service.  We are grateful to be able to freely worship our God, to return our praise to our Creator, Redeemer and Sustainer.  Thanks be to God for this day and this opportunity of worship.

~ We offer our prayers for Yvonne Giesbrecht’s mother, Rose, who has been dealing with cancer.  At this time there is not a long life expectancy for Rose.  Her family is gathering around her during this time and we pray for a deepened sense of being carried by the comfort and presence of our Lord.

~ Tim Wiebe is meeting with medical staff, who will determine the next phase of his treatment plan.  Nettie Ginter continues her treatments as well.  She is on a six month round of chemo treatments, which will then be followed by radiation.   Tenley Falk also continues her treatments and is attending school as she is able. We want to pray and uphold these people and their families before our God, the One who holds all of us in the palm of His hand, and the One who knows each of us by name. Updates for Tenley can be found at: htttp://www.tenleysjourney.wordpress.com

~ Thank you to all those who contributed to our Thanksgiving offering last Sunday, a total of $ 21,487.32 was collected.  We are grateful for a spirit of generosity which flows from a recognition that who we are and what we have, is truly a gift, given to us by our gracious God.

Our income to October 6, 2017 is $ 213, 994.19

The expenses to October 6, 2017 are $ 245, 553.37

The shortfall to October 6, 2017 is $ 31, 559.18

~ Those in various care homes that we remember in our prayers include: Trudy Harms, Helen Janzen, and Jake Rempel. We also want to remember Mary Klassen in BTHC and Peter E Hildebrandt who are dealing with health issues.

~We continue to offer our prayer support for Laure and her family, as well as for the Paroisse Missionaire Congregation in Kinshasa, DR Congo; Ryan Thiessen in San Carlos, Mexico; Murray and Carol Honsberger in Papua New Guinea, Eagles Wings Children’s Village in Uganda, Jon & Natalie Neudorf in Chiang Mai, Thailand working with YWAM,  and Andrea Fehr with YWAM in Hawai’i

Prayer for the Week:

Gracious and heavenly Father, source of every blessing, giver of every good gift, we worship and adore you and bless your Holy Name.  We praise You for the revelation of Yourself in our Lord Jesus Christ and every glimpse we have of Your nature.  May our love and worship of You, so fill our lives that we show You forth to others.  We praise You for all the joys of life and the everyday blessings we receive from You.  May we in turn be a source of blessing to all with whom we come into contact.  We pray in the strong name of Jesus.  Amen.
