Verse of the Week:

Those who know your name will trust in you, for you, Lord, have never forsaken those who seek you.

Psalm 9: 10

Worship leader: Harley Dyck

‘Tis so sweet to trust in Jesus

Prayer & Praise

~ Thank you to the Music Committee for planning this morning’s worship service.  Thank you to the participants for all your contributions.  We are grateful that we have a great story to share about a God who is trustworthy and faithful and who has invited the trust of each one of us in Him as our Lord and Savior; the Good Shepherd of our lives.

~ Next Sunday, May 20, 2018, we are planning for a service of baptism and communion.  We look forward to a special time of worship in which we want to hear and affirm the testimonies of those who are publically confessing their faith in Jesus as Savior and Lord.  We invite your continued prayer support for the participants and their witnesses.  Nick Driedger has made arrangements to be baptized by immersion later in the summer.  The others include: Tyson Fehr, Josh Dyck, Heidi Miller, Mark Falk, Lauren Fehr, and Jesse Miller.

~ Congratulations to John & Melissa Wiebe on the birth of a daughter, Makayla Fern, on Sunday, May 6, 2018.  She is a sister for Wynter.  She is also a granddaughter for Linda Penner.  We as a congregation want to wish you God’s blessings as you fulfill your responsibilities to the children God has entrusted to your care.

Reminders of prayer items for this week:

~ Continue in prayer for Tenley Falk and family, and Nettie Ginter and family, Tim Wiebe and family as they continue to deal with their individual needs in relation to their cancer.

Austin Penner’s release date is set for June 29, 2018, from the Agassiz Youth Centre in Portage la Prairie.  This will be a significant transition for him and a number of resource people are in place to assist him.  We offer our prayer support for this crucial time of decision making.

Harv Thiessen as he continues his physiotherapy program at the Riverview Health Centre in Winnipeg.  Your prayers are appreciated.

~ Those in various care homes that we remember in our prayers include: Trudy Harms, Helen Janzen, Jake Rempel, Mary Klassen, and Peter E. Hildebrandt

~We continue to offer our prayer support for Laure and her family, as well as for the Paroisse Missionaire Congregation in Kinshasa, DR Congo; Ryan Thiessen in San Carlos, Mexico, Murray and Carol Honsberger in Papua New Guinea, Eagles Wings Children’s Village in Uganda, Jon & Natalie Neudorf in Chiang Mai, Thailand working with YWAM, Andrea Fehr who is home working on VISA requirements before she can head back to Hawai’i, and Tyler Loewen in Cambodia with MCC.

Prayer for the week: (From Psalm 139)

Lord You have searched me and known me, You know when I sit down and when I rise up, You discern my thoughts long before.  You know my journeys and the places where I rest; You are acquainted with all my ways.  You are behind me and before me; You have laid your hand upon me… Search me, O God, and know my heart.  Try me and know my thoughts; and see if there be any wicked way in me and lead me in the way everlasting. Amen.
