Prayer & Praise

~ Welcome to our annual Promotion Sunday Worship Service.  A special welcome to our speaker, Peter G Dyck, from Boissevain, grandfather to Walter & Marilyn and Dave & Erica’s children.  Thank you to our superintendents, Marilyn Dyck & Ingrid Friesen for planning this service.  Thank you to our Sunday school teachers for your continued dedication and commitment to teaching God’s word and living by example.

~ We as a congregation have been blessed with the birth of new life in our midst.  On Wednesday, August 22, Sara Gerling welcomed a son, Ethan David, into the family.  He is a brother for Jack Christian.  Then on Tuesday, September 4, Justin & Karissa Falk, welcomed a daughter, Blakely Ryan, into their family.  She is a sister for Presley & Nixon and another granddaughter for Ken & Eleanor Fehr.  Also on Tuesday, September 4, Eric & Jessica Giesbrecht, welcomed their first child, a son, James Torin, into their family.  Grandparents are Joe & Janet Giesbrecht.  We as a congregation want to wish you God’s blessings as you commit yourselves to the journey of being godly parents to those whom God has entrusted to your care.

~ It’s that time of year again! Clubs is right around the corner. Once again we are looking for leaders. We plan to start in November. Clubs is not a big commitment since it’s only every Wednesday. Teaching materials will be provided. Feel free to contact Rachelle Loewen @ 362-8323 if you have any questions or would like to be a leader

Memory Passage for summer 2018

Isaiah 6: 1 – 8

  1. In the year that King Uzziah died, I saw the Lord, high and exalted, seated on a throne; and the train of His robe filled the temple.
  2. Above Him were seraphim; each with six wings: with two wings they covered their faces, with two they covered their feet, and with two they were flying.
  3. And they were calling to one another, “Holy, holy, holy is the Lord Almighty; the whole earth is full of His glory!”
  4. At the sound of their voices the doorposts and thresholds shook and the temple was filled with smoke.
  5. “Woe to me!” I cried. “I am ruined! For I am a man of unclean lips, and I live among a people of unclean lips; for my eyes have seen the King, the Lord Almighty.”
  6. Then one of the seraphim flew to me with a live coal in his hand, which he had taken with tongs from the altar.
  7. With it he touched my mouth and said: “See, this has touched your lips; your guilt is taken away, and your sin atoned for.”
  8. Then I heard the voice of the Lord, saying: “Whom shall I send, and who will go for us?” Then I said, “Here I am, send me.”

WE NEED LEADERS: We are looking to fill 2 female and 1 male youth leader spots for this upcoming fall youth season. Ideally it would be great to have a married couple and another woman come on board. Age is no limit for volunteering with youth. They have lots of energy; don’t feel like you need to keep up with them. If you love God and want to see youth come to know and love God. Gerry would love to talk to you! And if you think that you’re not the right fit for this, but know someone who would be amazing at it, tap them on the shoulder and let Gerry know to contact them. Feel free to call or text him about what it might look like for you to be involved. His cell number is 204-362-7262.

Memory Passage for summer 2018

Isaiah 6: 1 – 8

  1. In the year that King Uzziah died, I saw the Lord sitting on a throne, high and lifted up, and the train of His robe filled the temple.
  2. Above it stood seraphim; each one had six wings: with two he covered his face, with two he covered his feet, and with two he flew.
  3. And one cried to another, “Holy, holy, holy is the Lord of hosts; the whole earth is full of His glory!”
  4. And the posts of the door were shaken by the voice of him who cried out, and the house was filled with smoke.
  5. So I said: “Woe is me, for I am undone! Because I am a man of unclean lips, and I dwell in the midst of a people of unclean lips; for my eyes have seen the King, the Lord of hosts.”
  6. Then one of the seraphim flew to me, having in his hand a live coal which he had taken with the tongs from the altar.
  7. And he touched my mouth with it, and said: “Behold, this has touched your lips; your iniquity is taken away, and your sin purged.”
  8. Also I heard the voice of the Lord, saying: “Whom shall I send, and who will go for us?” Then I said, “Here I am, send me.”
